Since the pilot program launch in November 2014, the Sydney Metro Pre-employment Program has helped disadvantaged, Indigenous and long term unemployed people to find jobs on major transport infrastructure projects.
The commitment and efforts of the team comprising Western Sydney Institute of TAFE, Breakthru People Solutions, Global Skills, Thiess John Holland Dragados, our client Salini Impreglio JV and Workforce International saw them receive the prestigious 2015 Premier’s Award in the Industry Skills and Regional Development category – Making NSW a Better Place to Live.
To date, Workforce International have conducted four pre-employment assessment programs. Of the 40 people who attended these programs, we engaged 24 to work on the Sydney Metro Northwest project. It is testament to the effectiveness of our recruitment methods that 19 continue to be engaged on this important infrastructure project.
